Many have commented Obama’s victory speech to be subdued. Subdued and yet appropriate. Appropriate for a time that “united” and “move on” are more important than to celebrate the victory and pride.
And yet, you would found McCain’s concession speech is also truly remarkable. His speech is very classy, as the loser, to deliver the same message that his former opponent, the President-Elect Obama, has delivered. Some might even think McCain could have won, or at least get closer, if only he could be this classy during, but not after, the campaign.
Anyway, this could be one of the best example of how American embrace their democracy. And that’s what makes America “America”.
